How is it already the middle of November?!?!! We couldn't let the fall wedding season pass us by before sharing our biggest event of the year -- the Camille's Runway Show! ICYMI: We host a bridal fashion show every year in November as part of the Wilmington Wedding Expo and this year was the first time since 2019 that we were able to hold the show in-person again. The last 2 years have been digital events, captured on video by our friends at WWAY-TV, so we were anxious to get back to the face-to-face event this year.
LOTS of planning, blood, sweat and tears went into this event AND we forged several amazing new professional relationships through the process. Namely, our venue for the event -- the Holiday Inn at Lumina on Wrightsville Beach. This was the perfect location, right on the beautiful shoreline of Wrightsville Beach, newly renovated inside and ever so spacious. The runway show was held in the main ballrooms and it was a seriously stunning sight to see!
Allure Bloom Creations was another newfound partnership that came out of this event, and we are so impressed with the gorgeous bohemian-style pampas grass floral displays they created to accent our runway and custom arch backdrop we had made by R. Beine Construction. We also commissioned a custom pair of selfie "wings" for the attendees to take photos with, and the touchscreen photobooth operator from Active Entertainment was clutch! PS: Our signature Lucite Chiavari chairs from Party Suppliers made another appearance this year!
Speaking of, Martin Eichert -- owner of Active Entertainment -- was our DJ for the event spinning the most perfect up-tempo music, and his intelligent lighting lit the way beautifully for our models on the catwalk. His DJ booth was decked out by Design Perfection with sleek white columns and boho accents that complemented our runway aesthetic flawlessly. Also... how SHARP does Martin look in our stylish velvet tux?!?!!
Our show was broken out into 3 runway segments featuring 2 style profile pairings per segment: "What's Trending: Boho & Minimalism"; "Dreams Come True: Fairytale & Glam"; plus, the debut of our first ever "Camille's in Color" segment with non-traditional color options in bridal attire and it was an absolute hit! That finale dress... O.M.G.!!! Style #4119 from Morilee by Madeline Gardner in the "Bellini" coloration was a showstopping, jaw-dropping, head-turning gown for the record books, AND... we had the ONLY SAMPLE of it IN THE WORLD for our very own fashion show! Literally, we had to ship it off to a major bridal magazine publication for a photoshoot less than 24 hours after our event! Not to worry though, our very own store sample is on order for an early 2023 arrival and you'll be the first to know when it arrives!
We always love working with our local talent and UC Models for our annual fashion show -- every model was incredibly professional and brought our visions to life each time they graced the catwalk! Seriously, we could not be more proud of them and look forward to working with all of them again next year.
