We had the honor of of dressing Olivia for her big day and we could not be happier for her and her new husband, Joshua. We love featuring our brides and sharing their story with you! Contact us if you’d like to be a featured bride on our blog!

Did you have an idea of what style wedding or the style of dress you wanted at the time?

I had an idea of which dress I wanted to wear before I even had a fiancé! The year before Josh proposed, I started dreaming on Pinterest and found the perfect dress (I was ready to get married). It was a tulle ballgown with illusion lace, embellished with crystals and pearls. That dress was the foundation of the romantic, nature-inspired wedding I wanted. When we finally got engaged, I went back to that dress—and I was shocked to learn that the style and I have the same name! It was meant to be.

How did you decide on THE dress?

With the “Olivia” dress on my mind, it was easy to decide. I crossed paths with Camille’s at a downtown Wilmington wedding expo. They told me they had a sample of the dress I wanted, so I scheduled my bridal appointment on my 26th birthday. I tried on about 10 dresses altogether, mostly picked by my entourage. The Olivia dress was the first and last I tried. It was the style I wanted; it covered my imperfections while enhancing my favorite features; and, it was under budget! When my consultant added the matching veil, I knew that’s how I wanted to look on my wedding day. I couldn’t wait to swish around in the flowy skirt with my husband in the vineyard!

What was your favorite thing about wedding dress shopping?

Wedding dress shopping on my birthday made the whole experience extra special. I loved stepping into the role of a bride and trying different styles. I’d never tried on wedding dresses before, and it took some getting used to! Seeing myself transform into a bride was probably my favorite part—especially when the veil was put on.

How was shopping at Camille’s different than other stores you went to?

Camille’s was the first and only bridal salon I visited. Their staff have the trifecta of what you’re looking for from your bridal experience—compassion, selection, and expertise. Their selection was fantastic, and I loved that my alterations could be done in-store by the experts. Lorraine was fantastic at making my own “Olivia” dress fit perfectly for my wedding day!
