This beautiful bride (and even more beautiful person), Amanda Boles, is so special to the Camille’s family. Amanda worked for Camille’s as a bridal consultant when we first opened in 2014 and has since remained close with the “Camille’s Chicks.” We were over the Moon excited for Amanda when we heard she was engaged and even more thrilled she chose to get her wedding gown at Camille’s.

Congrats, Amanda and Zach!

Where did you meet your husband?

AB: We met our senior year at UNCW. Our story written as “his side” and “her side” is on our wedding website.

When and where did you get engaged?

AB: Our engagement story is so exciting me to because I was completely surprised after 7 years of dating. We were engaged on Superbowl Sunday 2016 when the Panthers were playing for the ring! Zach used one of our friend’s houses to set up a path of rose petals that lead me to a video of him leading me out to the back porch where I opened the back doors to see him down on one knee. There was a group of some of our closest friends and family watching and waiting with champagne to celebrate when I said “yes!”

What made you decide to shop at Camille’s?

AB: Our wedding was in Wilmington because the town is so special to our love story. I used to work at Camille’s and it meant so much to me to support local and get a dress from friends!

How soon after you got engaged did you begin looking for a wedding gown?

AB: I started shopping for a dress just a few months after we were engaged but I only had 10 months to plan so I wanted plenty of time to order my gown and have alterations done.

What was it like shopping for your wedding gown at Camille’s?

AB: So fun! My consultant was Linell. I’ve worked in the Bridal industry selling bridal gowns for years but she still made me feel special and all of the girls still oohed and aahed over the good picks! It made me feel so special, as every bride should. It was just my mom and I shopping because I wanted it to be a special experience for us to share together. And it was!

How did you decide which one?

AB: Well my mom really made the decision for me. When I saw the look on her face of me in my gown, I was sold!

What was your favorite thing about wedding dress shopping?

AB: My favorite thing was the moments I got to share with my mom. We laughed at the bad fits and “looked better on the rack” dresses but then we shared the best moments of a mother-daughter shopping trip: find THE Dress.

How was shopping at Camille’s different from other stores you went to?

AB: I didn’t go to a lot of other stores but my favorite part about shopping at Camille’s was that it was a very intimate enviornment. I never felt like I was just another bride. I had my own dressing room and my own consultant to help pick out dresses and accessories. Everyone was so helpful and excited about working with me.

Did you get your alterations done at Camille’s?

AB: I did! I had my bodice taken in, the hem taken up and a customized bustle that turned out perfect!
