The entire team at Camille’s got to know the fabulous Lynn Adams very well during the months leading up to her big day. We had a ball dressing Lynn and her bridal party head to toe!

You just can’t go wrong with Camille’s. They take care of you from head to toe from start to finish. They are just wonderful and I can’t say enough good things about them. They wanted my day to be special and went above and beyond to make sure it was. – Lynn Gobble, Camille’s Bride

Where did you meet your husband?

LMA: I officiate high school soccer games and he puts on classes to train referees. We met while I attended one of his classes. The rest…history!

When and where did you get engaged?

LMA: We got engaged at a Mexican Restaurant on Valentine’s Day of 2016 after 9 years of dating. While dating we had always said we would not get married since we had both been married before so when he did ask, I was taken completely off guard. It was over dinner after a movie date and he said “Will you marry me?” and I had to think for awhile about what he was asking me. I didn’t say a word and tears were welling up in my eyes and after I was able to compose myself I said “yes!”

How soon after you got engaged did you begin looking for a wedding gown?

LMA: In April for an October wedding.

What made you decide to shop at Camille’s?

LMA: It was actually a fluke on the day we went to Camille’s. It was while I was having a girls weekend at Carolina Beach with my Maid of Honor and BFF, Kelly. I was looking at gowns in some bridal magazines and tabbed a few I liked but kept coming back to this stunning Maggie Sottero gown.

Kelly said, “Let’s look and see what’s here in Wilmington!” So on a Saturday afternoon, we called Camille’s and they had a bridal appointment opening and scheduled us. They had the exact Maggie Sottero dress in stock AND in my size. I tried it on, along with 12 other dresses of differing styles during the appointment. But nothing compared to that original dress I sought out. So I bought it on the spot!

What was it like shopping for your wedding gown at Camille’s?

LMA: I’m always very nervous about going into a “boutique” and having a “pretty woman moment” where the associate is very rude and condescending. I was envisioning someone saying “There’s nothing for you in this store. Lucky for me, my fear was NOTHING LIKE MY ACTUAL EXPERIENCE AT CAMILLE’S!

When we walked in it was SO OPPOSITE of what I feared. I went in knowing very little about Camille’s. My Maid of Honor, Kelly and I arrived in shorts and beach attire. Joanne, the owner, met me at the door and I was comfortable instantly. I filled out an information card and she directed me to start looking at dresses while she got a dressing room ready. She was very friendly and accommodating.

I opted not to go out and stand on the podium as I tried on each dress and instead stayed “behind the scenes” where I was much more comfortable.

How was shopping at Camille’s Different from other stores you went to?

LMA: I went to a large chain dress shop to look at bridesmaid dresses and had a miserable experience where their associates ignored me and my friend and were rude when they did speak with us. I have a mild temperament but I actually stormed out and told them I was “taking my business to Camille’s!” Each and every singe time I went to Camille’s, remembered me by name and were so gracious and accommodating. They took care of everything.

What did you go with for Bridesmaid dresses from Camille’s?

LMA: I dressed all 5 of my bridesmaids at Camille’s! I wanted them to pick a style that made them feel beautiful and flattered their figure. Each of them picked a different style in the same eggplant color.

What do you do for the Mother of the Bride dress?

LMA: I’d had so much success at Camille’s I brought my mother in to shop for her dress as well and she loved it. And luck for us, we found one she loved on sale on the clearance rack!

Who dressed the Groomsmen?

LMA: I told Joanne what I was wanting a tweed “Downtown Abbey style” vest for them and she found something like it in her book. She ordered a sample and I loved so I ordered vests for all the Groomsmen. We rented ties and white shirts from Camille’s and they each wore their own white shirt and khakis. They wear them to church all the time now!

How about the Flower Girl dress?

LMA: We bought the Flower Girl Gown also from the clearance rack that was a similar color to mine (blushing champagne with antique and lace overlay). She also had on cowboy boots.

Did you get your alterations done at Camille’s?

LMA: My alterations and my Maid of Honor’s alterations were done at Camille’s. Angela and Lorraine are amazing at what they do. The bustling for my gown was done beautifully. My other bridesmaids were out of town so they had their dresses shipped to them and alterations were done elsewhere.

You got your bridal jewelry from Camille’s?
