Looking for that perfect prom dress, but have no idea where to begin? Don’t worry! Tons of girls feel the same way. Many have no idea what to expect or what they’re looking for. So here are a few quick tips to keep in mind on your dress search.
Pin Away! Not sure what kind of dress you’d like to wear? Try out our Prom Style Quiz to get a general idea of what you like and dislike. Utilize sites like Pinterest to tag examples of your favorite styles and search through your favorite magazines to get ideas. Show your ideas to a sales associateat your local dress boutique, and they can help you narrow your search and save valuable time!
Order Early. Some designers take several weeks to ship their dresses out. And many dress companies can run out of stock as early as late February! To be safe, order your dress about 4 to 6 weeks prior to your prom date to allow for order processing, shipping and alterations.
When All Else Fails, Order Off the Rack! If you waited until the last minute, you can always buy a sample. Even a dress that’s two sizes too big, can be brought down to size with our in-house alterations department.
Have a Budget in Mind: Dresses in our discontinued section can be as low as $100, our higher-end dresses can cost upwards of $500. With that in mind, don’t forget to factor in your accessories, alterations, and etc.
Don’t Forget Your Alterations! You’ll rarely find a dress, off the rack, that fits you perfectly. You may need to take something in or shorten a hem. Factor in the potential costs and time it’ll take to accommodate any necessary fixes.
